well ill get straight to the point.. a friend of mine told me he is attempting to grow EQ's in his home closet. He inoculated 6 / 1 pint wide mouth jars filled with wild birdseed with no problems.. used those to spawn 6 / 1 gallon bags with a 1 inoculated jar / 2 un-inoculated jars (if thats a word). anyways.. he used a coir/verm mix of about 90/10. Moisture was great in hte cassing.. no contaminations at all.. but the mushies that are growing are very mutated and gnarled looking.. almost all open WAY to early..very low yeild due to immature fruits. he fans 3 times a day and temps are around the upper 60's and humidity is high.. im sorry but he could no provide me with any pictures to help.. if anyone has anything to say on this matter.. he says n e help would be nice.. he has been growin for years and never ran into this issue.. thank you

when you say humidity is high.. what is he using to measure it? upper 60s is ok but I usually stay in the 73-75 range. Im pretty sure I fan more than 3 times a day. Gotta get those CO2 levels down...

There's no such thing as too much humidity, and standing water in the perlite will LOWER the humidity.
However, low humidity does not cause mutations. If your substrate moisture is right, it sounds like you have some shitty genetics. RR
