This is my first casing so i know i am asking alot of questions I am using worm castings to case wbs i know bad choice cause it made its way through the worm castings ihave been watching it to determine if i need to recase or not i believe i gave began to see primordia around the casing and just wondering if its best to just let it fruit or to do a casing, haha i am not even quite sure its primordia but white dots as far as i have read are knotting or that and it doesnt quite look like knotting so any help would be greatly appreciated. For information sake i did learn from this experiance i am starting a new tray of coir as a substrate and am gonna use a better casing next time thanks again here is a couple of pics.

So is it better for me to case then? haha cause the worm castings were suppose to be my casing as you can see thats not gonna work like that so do you think it is better to let it run its course or case it, or perhaps i should case 1 and let the other go hmm never thouhgt of that, if i case should i go back into incubation?

take a clean fork and rake the top. even it out. it is to matted down, . Its okay if you tear up the mycelium
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

i see no matting.. but i agree the surface should be more even for a better pinset... try late casing (search for fahtster's thread and dont late case until you see pins) one and compare the results... make sure ya post more pics!

Ok thanks alot i will try to even it out a little and i will case one of them.Well i tried to smooth it out and realized why at some point i read a post from RR about it clumping up and forming into balls the worm castings that is, i wish i would have read that before i chose this substance but its a lesson learned thats for sure. Generally when you case you take out of fruiting conditions should i do that since it is kinda a late casing? then put it back in when the casing is ready

late casing should be done when the most pins form. fahtster found thats when you get the best fruits and pinsets and I've discovered that as well.
