Whats the best way to fan dry before desiccant?
So im thinking fan onto shroms laying on BBQ oven rack's with a peice of carboard behind so spores dont get blown everywhere?
ps. My food dehydrator jst arrived, with no temp contrl so i disconnected the heating element by clipping off the coil and taking the coil off, then it didnt work and electricuted me, food dehydrators can suck my cock. (Im PISSD!!! £50 on a peice of shit that doesnt work now, great!)
If you could suggest best fanning method?
Thanks...

You should have left the heating element in the dehydrator. Unless the temperatures got up to 400F, there would have been no problem. Your fanning method sounds fine.

works wonders. a box fan propped up on two school books on each side pointing down pulling the air through the mushies. that back strainer to the left a put on there yesterday morn and they are cracker dry today. i dont even need a desicant chamber.

its fucked man i threw it away, can even use it for spares, i had to rip it open as it had some STUPID screws to stop people like myself opening it.
Food dehydrators 2day have made a powerfull enemy.
Well an enemy anyway!

If you only have a few cakes going, you can use a frying pan splatter screen tilted against a short stack of books or cd's with the fan blowing directly on them. When they're nice and dry, put them into a tupperware box with a damprid bucket until they're as dry as fresh saltines.

After I load it up pretty good it usually comes out to be 3oz dry and takes about a day and a half depending on the size of the mushrooms

I always have good results with fan drying by putting them down in a single layer on trays(Usually the lids of the sweater boxes they grew in) and aiming a fan at them.Sometimes it takes more than a day to get fat ones cracker dry though
