fruited too early

Hey hey guys,
I have a casing consisting of wbs spawned to straw. Cased with peat/verm. I am still perfecting my growing abilities and unfortunately I fruited it too early. It's been in the FC for a few days with no sign of any kind of change. Would it be alright for me to put it back into the incubator until the casing is more colonized, then proceed to patch and THEN fruit it?
Thanks all.

how much of the casing was colonized when you put it into fruiting?

maybe just the bottom part of it, it's roughly 1/2 an inch.

i think i would just keep it in the fruiting chamber if it was spawned to straw, but how much really matters. sooner or later if u have good humidity and air exchange pins will form

the whole thing was colonized, I'm saying that the casing layer was not fully colonized (and i dont mean to the point of overlay) but I believe that it shold have been more colonized before i fruited it

nah man you did good.. the casing layer really shouldnt be colonized much at all. the casing layer is there to provide moisture and the perfect micro-climate for knots/pins to form. if its overlayed to much the water wont really absorb. just be patient and wait for the knots to form.. keep your humidity up and keep fanning.

well I certainly hope you're right, just a bit concerned since it's been a few days (I have another one right next to it that seems to be doing better, and the casing layer was a bit more colonized than the one I'm referring to). however, the one that is doing well has somewhat of an uneven pinset-- any tips on achieving a great pinset?

patch your casing (lightly) in the spots where you feel the myc is growing too vigorously
plz read hyphae's pinning strategy.. also.. check out fahtster's late casing thread here too. they are both different ways to case and i found fahtsters was pretty cool.

It can sometimes take up to 2 weeks after pinning triggers are initiated to see primordia. Give it more time.

I have been reading about the late casing. I may try that that on some of my future crops.

i late cased 3 of my casings and i have to say its pretty cool. My humidity was not high enough at times when pins were forming so I had to offset that with wax paper.
