spring water or distilled water nutes/or no nutes for humidifiers
    #7890709 - 01/16/08 10:13 PM (16 years, 16 days ago)

I was wondering today. If we use spring water for lc's cause it has some nutes in it would it be wise to use spring water in our humidifiers, or should I stick to distilled.

If water was water than why would spring water be the medium that works best for liquid cultures?

Seriously though isn't it some thing to think of. If a said person would have gh's and pumping humidity with distilled water which i believe is stripped of all nutrients, and if by switching to spring water which i believe is loaded with nutrients wouldn't that be quite a discovery?

Bull shit!!!!!!!! Where the hell do you guys think tap water comes from??
Distilled water would be best for you humidifier because it does not have the Minerials that tap and spring water have.

Stamets recomends spring/rain water for misting casings but this is mainly a hippie thing. It might have a very slight effect on it but you folks would not notice the difference

josh m, I believe you mean minerials instead of nutrients. Please do not add to the misinformation that is floating around this place.

Tap water comes from shit ass rain water that is treated with your so called minerals( chlorine, need i go farther). Dump some chlorine on your casings and see what happens. Sorry MINERALS can be good for cakes and casings period.

AS for your chlorine and tap water. tap water will not hurt casings. Straight chlorine would but who would do that.

You might appreciate this pic.
Btw, please do not even attempt to match wits with me.

I used distilled for my jars just to avoid any additional contaminates that might be in most water sources. Even though it does get cooked ,it never hurts to be safe.

i use whatever water is next to me, i think you can pick one and think your getting better results. do it. its not hard to buy a few gallons of water at the store, but if your out, dont hesitate to use tap water, it wont kill anything.
