there was a kid in my highschool named RJ (coincidence?), he wouldn't stop rocking. and he was crazy. i dont know what exactly he had, but it was some mental disability.
this bill is retarded. but then again so is the fact that so many people that could work, just live off welfare and do nothing. wait no, that sounds like the life. how do i do this??

I don't see why this is a bad idea. If you can't pay for your drugs, you shouldn't be doing them. Fuck my tax dollars going to buy some tweakers meth fix, he can starve for all I give a fuck. More money for the people who actually need it and don't abuse one of the few virtuous government systems in place today. Well, virtuous in purpose, although perhaps not practice.

I semi-agree with that. I mean...our taxes are paying these peoples income. I've gotta take drug tests at work. Why shouldn't they have to? And I might add, we'll probably lose about 80% of welfare collectors too. What's the harm in that?

what about people not exploiting the system who really need welfare?? they cant have basic rights like the rest of us to freedom????
this will target those good and bad. how about lets just get rid of the people who don't need welfare in the first place.

just handing them a check is the problem.
if your gonna test their piss for drugs, you better test it for steak and lobster too. i've seen welfare dollars blown on potato chips and candy.
if they gave a shit what this money was getting spent on there would be some sort of regulation or oversight of purchases. and you don't have to be a crack baby to figure that one out.
this just sounds like Assemblyman John trying to be the anti drug good guy. thats all.
i'd take a fat shit on Assemblyman John's face.

this is stupid
hat does the fact that someone uses, say, crack have to do with their need for welfare?
if welfare is presumed to be a good idea, what does the recipients use of drugs have to do with anything? does that mean they don't have the same right to the money that other similar persons do under the same law?

Um... it WOULD only test those on welfare, unless I'm terribly mistaken here.

There are ups and downs to both sides...
Obviously, the idea of welfare is not to provide money to people to buy drugs with.
However, if you impose drug testing, it is expensive and will add to the taxpayers' burden, and you may see in increase in crime due to the user's being unable to get their fix.
The answer? Communism

I don't see a legitimate reason for welfare.

Yes YOU are terribly mistaken as it would test those on government assistance programs, so YOU are terribly mistaken. So welfare, SSI, Sec. 8 and food stamp programs would all be covered. Let's use common sense, it's fun!!!
Jesus dude I made a mistake no need to grind me to the ground here.
And my opinion still stands.

there are real reasons.
IN the ghetto most people who are addicted to crack turn to crime to pay for it.
crime costs society far more.
technically tax helps everyone out, so everyone should be tested.
