pretty dumb, use usps next time, though it likely wouldn't have mattered as drug dogs were likely the source of the info.

I really don't think that FedEx owns and operates their own drug dogs... Thats not to say that the police do not visit FedEx with their own drug dogs, because they do. 30 lbs of decent cannabis (mexi-brick weed or not) is going to have an odor, and how many people have industrial sized vacuum sealers handy?

i've sent quarters and halves through the mail without problems... however i would never use a big shipper because of their screening policies... especially not UPS or FedEx and definitely not the state-owned USPS... also, mine were always sent next-day express, which gives them less time to fuck around with my shit... but 30 lbs??? i think if i had 30 lbs i would take the time to fucking DRIVE it where it needed to go... here is a link regarding FedEx's screening policies from a former senior manager...

yeah, I know...
the police generally use the drug dogs at both private and public, however; at USPS you at least have protection against non-warrant searches
and UPS at least has a policy of making themselves voluntarily available to law enforcement for these types of things so that they don't get regulated or subject to restrictive laws... they try to appear cooperative to avoid trouble from lawmakers
really the warrant thing is what seals it, go usps, priority or first class (express fits a profile for drug shipments though this is also sealed against inspection)

im pretty sure if they sent 30lbs fed ex i bet it wasnt the first time they have done it , so im sure it gets through sometimes, and i bet that it was vac sealed or something of the sorts. also if they had drug dogs there it wouldnt matter if you sent usps or not cuz once the dog alerted the police there was drugs in a package, they would then have the pc to open it up without a warrant... i believe anyways or they would atleast send it to be xrayed. just imo

well, yah it wouldn't matter once the dog alerted, however, in all other instances its best to have usps as they require warrants for sealed mail
and they still need a warrant with drug dog detection unless there's a "public safety" exception. The dog would be enough to get a warrant though.
The point is that private carriers can open your mail at any time, while usps needs a warrant. Also, I'd imagine its possible UPS/FEDEx have more narcotics canines due to the percieved safety of third-party shippers coupled with (at least in UPS' case) the fact that they cooperate w/ law enforcement to avoid regulations being forced upon them.
really they're about equal except w/ the USPS warrant requirment (enacted by statute) and that is what makes it better in my opinion.
