Loong term storage? (Vacuum Sealer)

After vacuum selaing whats the best place for storage, will i still need desiccant and air tight container?
Freezer?
How long can i then store for?
Im thinking indefinately as some mushrooms can last thousands of eyars if dried and stored correctly, after vacuum sealing im thinking the only enemy could be heat?

you need to dry them before you store them.. think about it... fresh mushies from the store will go bad, no matter how you store them, unless frozen.. even then, they will go bad... just not good eats...
fan dry them, then set them in a container suspended over damprid... then you can store them and they will be fine.. cool dry dark

I know that lol
Im gonna dry some with food dehydrator, most with desiccant, then vacuum seal, but then where do i store them?
I want these to keep for at very least a year.
Thanks...

One way to store mushies is to dry them and then grind them into a powder, you can then store the powder as is or put it into 00 size vitamin capsules. afof does that and he says they last forever, they also go down a lot easier compared to eating dried mushrooms
Here is a nice tek on it http://www.shroomery.org/6254/MUSHROOM-CAPSULE-FAQ
More preserving teks can be found here... http://www.shroomery.org/6223/Preserve-Mushrooms

You can buy packets of an oxygen absorbing agent as well. This will halt oxidation of the active compounds in the mushrooms, and prevent aerobic organisms from growing.

Im thinking of when humans are a space race and the earth no longer exists, im sure we could have labs growning space shrooms but drying is the way to go, you gotta hide that ish from your space parents

Im worried about after a while the oxygen in the vacuum seal i.e. (the oxygen inside the actual shroom will degrade by oxidising..)???
i could powder then vacuum seal but surely the vacuum will suck the powder out as its so fine?
ps i dont liek thje freon idea, there has to be a natural way of doing it, and yes i know nature didnt create vacuum seals!
the reason for this drying is so next year at music festivals i can share the fruits of my labour with all my friends!

Sporeworks sells oxygen-absorbing packets. They ship to outside the US, I believe.

Thanks dude.
MY drying tech looks to be like this...
1. Fan dry for 24 hours. (Or/& food dehydrator)
2. Desiccant/kitchen towel w/shrooms on top in airtight container 24 hours
3. Once CRACKER dry throw oxygen absorber into the same box, leave for 24 hours.
4. Quickly take fomr airtight container and vacuum pack.
5. Store in freezer inside vacuum pack and airtight container w/desiccant and oxygen absorber in airtight container, until use
Should i fan dry them then desicccate & antioxy at the same time or 24 hours each?

I have dried them ..... packed them under vacuum (seal a meal), wrapped the packet in a piece of black plastic, stored them in the freezer for 5 years ..... 5 years!
Took them out, ingested them and had my ass kicked !
No O2, No light, Cold temps .... they will last a long, long time.

are the o2 packets necessary though? are you trying to preserve the psilocin?

Man, it doesn't have to be that difficult!

That is perfect. No need to over intellectualize the process.
