T. peruvanius and T. pachanoi (San Pedro) contains mostly mescaline.

T. bridgesii and Lophophora (Peyote) contain other chemicals.

T. peruvianus and pachanoi are more subtle...

Peyote and T. bridgesii are more heavy handed and intense...

You're not going to feel much difference between SP, Torch, or bridgesii. Why do you keep spreading that misinformation?

Bridgesii contains mescaline as its cheif alkaloid.
Other than that, it contains...
less than 1% of 3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamine,
less than 1% of 3-methoxytyramine,
and
less than 1% of tyramine

Unless you have a link to some sort of scientific data that clearly contradicts all previous study done on the cactus...?

That's def. not true...

Bridgesii can be very different than T. pachanoi...

Especially T. bridgesii monstrose...

Somebody back me up... CPW1971 didn't you tell me about your Bridgesii trip a while back?

Well, those are the numbers.
Set and setting can make an impact, though.

I'm telling you.

From all the people I've talked to who grow trichocereus cacti, here and on other forums, they all say the Bridgesii trip is different from a T. peruvianus or T. pachanoi trip.

Every Trichocereus is different, but it seems that the T. bridgesii often contains much higher concentrations of the peyote-like chemicals.

That's nice.
It's still wrong, though.

If you would follow the links I provide, like http://www.erowid.org/plants/cacti/cacti_guide/cacti_guide.shtml
you could learn these things before you post incorrect information.

Bridgesii is one of the more pure carriers of mescaline. It acutally has a fewer number of accompanying alkaloids than San Pedro or Peruvian Torch.

San Pedro has:
mescaline, 3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamine, 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenethylamine, 3-hydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, anhalonidine, anhalinine, hordenine, tyramine, 3-methoxytyramine.

Peruvian Torch has:
mescaline, 2-chloromescaline, tyramine, 3-methoxytyramine, 3-4-dimethoxyphenethylamine, 4-hydroxy-3-5-dimethoxyphenethylamine.

But in any case, the levels of these chemicals (other than mescaline) in these three cacti are so low that they don't affect much. Even in peyote, the extras don't actually make you trip themselves, they just "flavor" the mescaline.

Okay, there might be slight differences, but I bet you won't do better than 33% on a Pepsi challenge.

They're all great. To consider one better than another would mean that one is not as good.
- And they're all great!

An entheogen's signature cannot be compared by analysing the chemical contents.

I don't mean to be a smart ass here, but do you propose a label of "hokus pokus" on medicine bottles?
Mescaline is going to have the effects of mescaline. What are you saying?

I have taken Torch any many times and it was great and all but I tried the same amount of Bridgesii and it fucking kicked my ass. I was tripping real hard and seeing visuals that rivaled Ayahuasca. It was way way way more potent than Torch. I even puked my brains out that night and Torch never made me come close to that.

There are growing techniques to increase the potency of the cactus.
There are also extraction techniques that give variable results.
Or maybe you could have possibly eaten a natural MAOI that interacted.

I slept for 12 hours, when I woke up I wasn't really trippin' anymore...

I had some crazy dreams tho!

Exactly! and 100 other people have told me the same exact thing...

Bridgesii is more purgative, visual and potent!
