Has anyone tried the New Moon spores from Earths tongue, I used them for my first attempt at growing mushrooms, and the suspension is rather dark in the syringe. Apparently this normal, although I would like to receive some feedback from the community

Of course,I was pondering that very question not long before I posted my inquiry. This is indeed a wonderful informative site, the only problem is that the sponsors mycology sites do not mail psilocybin spores to Australia, I do not know of any issues that would prevent them in sending psilocybian spores for microscopy use only. Anyway this is why I must seek other sites for my microscopy requirements

I have a friend who ordered the blue moon. They are dark because they are loaded with spores. My friend could not be happier with the results.
So no worries.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: The reason we only allow discussion of authorized shroomery vendors is because they have been vetted to remove the chaff from the grain. Earth tongue has one of the worst reputations in the business, second only to STP, the worst.
Strain is irrelevant in mushrooms, unlike in mj cultivation where it's everything. A cube IS a cube. The long-time growers know this, thus the disreputable spore sellers constantly invent new names to stamp on the same old strains that have been around for years. Pick a strain from a shroomery vendor for your microscopy study. Sporeprints easily slide into a regular mail envelope.
In addition, it seems to be in vogue with the unreputable spore dealers lately to put charcoal into the syringes to make them appear very 'dark', thus fooling new growers into thinking they got a lot of spores. Experienced growers know that less spores is better, thus they make light syringes.
Due to the constant cluttering of the board with worthless strain questions, we had to make a 'strain thread' and it's stickied at the top of the page. All discussion of 'strains' needs to be done up there. RR
