Crumbled WBS Recolonizing
    #7885659 - 01/15/08 08:24 PM (16 years, 17 days ago)

I currently have some wbs crumbled and was wondering how long I should incubate it to let it "reestablish" itself before I case it. Its been about 30 hours, but the top layer does NOT look like the outside of the jars when I initially crumbled it. I've read this is normal for it to look different, but should I allow it to recolonize to a nice milky top layer before I case with my 70/30 verm+coir?

was it fully colonized before you took it out of the jar?

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Yes. After all of the outside was colonized, I waited 4 days to crumble it. I've read multiple times that wbs and I think corn are not like other substrates, because they break apart far more easily for more inoculation points. Maybe I'm wrong and they in fact were not fully colonized...but I read as a rule of thumb what I did *should* be fine..?

case away. If it was fully colonized then it should be fine for casing
