Overlay Problem!!!!!!!!!
    #788337 - 07/31/02 01:13 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

Ok, I have a friend that had 5 casings in his incubator. Well he went out of town for 4 days and didnt think there would be a problem with the casings.

Well he got home and 3 of the casings are overlayed. I have since found out that South American are known for ripping through a casing really quick. He use COCO COIR!

So here is his question. Are these casings ruined? Does he just need to trash them or what.?

Can they be salvaged, can something be done to make these casings fruit well and then get a 2nd flush out of them?

Here is a pic of the casings

I would just add a new casing layer and do it right this time.

Id probably deep scratch, put a new layer of casing on top and cover with tinfoil, put in the incubator again and check in 2 days..then start pinning, then a week later start PICKING!!....lol...dont toss it out!

"So here is his question. Are these casings ruined? Does he just need to trash them or what.?"

---I'm just curious who is giving all the bullshit information about overlay...? It sounds like someone trained a bunch of the newer cultivators on here that overlay was the answer to a broad array of issues, from fruiting to humidity levels. Recase and put directly back into the fruiting chamber, you should see fruits in days. Never buy this overlayed casing should be thrown out crap.

Respect, Stop the mis-information of overlayed casings.
Deep-scratch it, recase and fruit it.
