I know I am asking this question without knowing the technical terms involved, so be patient with me.
What would one go about doing once they had discovered that they were full of shit?

Take a shit?
Just kidding. I recommend studying the Advaita (Non-dualism/Non-bullshit) teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti, Mooji, Krishnamurti, John Wheeler, Sailor Bob etc.
Check out the Tolle and Ram Dass vids at the end the M&P video thread...

And your recommendations have merit because you set a fine example as a non-dualistic person?

Read about other people's ideas. Question them (and your own.)
-------------------- Welcome evermore to gods and men is the self-helping man. For him all doors are flung wide: him all tongues greet, all honors crown, all eyes follow with desire. Our love goes out to him and embraces him, because he did not need it. ~ R.W. Emerson, "Self-Reliance"

Depends what one's intended outcome is and was meant by "full of shit".
Reading a great habit, read often and widely but often the full of shit lack even more severely in the taking action department.

I hope you don't get upset I mean no offense but I'm curious, what was the point of the last post? Is it because that what the concept was called in a book you read and find it irksome to have to generalize?
or inaction...

It's cool, I meant taking action sometimes means taking non-action. (like meditation, stillness and mindfulness)
My "full of shitness" is not what I think or do, but my lack of practicing not-thinking and not-doing.

Ahhh... thanks. I thought you were just repeating what i said in different words, which would have been annoying. Personally I'd consider meditation a willful action but now i have another term for it. danke.

Open eyes and see that they're all full of shit too just different colors and consistencies. Lots of that liquid kind. Mostly brown. Rarely black. Almost never white.

By full of shit do you mean that your own ideas are bad? Or that all ideas are bad and everyone is completely full of shit? Because for the either, but particularily the latter, I recommend reading the existentialists. Nietzsche, Camus and Jaspers in particular.

I'm not sure what you mean by this question. How did *I* discover these philosophers? Or how might one come across thier work? I discovered Nietzsche years ago because he's pretty popular but I took a course on Existentialism last semester and that was where I gained more familiarity with a broader range of philosophers and the ideas they had... How might you discover them? The library is a good place to start. I'd actually really recommend getting one of those 'introducing' series books. They're a good way to figure out the basics in understandable terms if you don't have a professor to spell it out for you.
