Dreaming with other people
    #787782 - 07/31/02 08:46 AM (14 years, 4 months ago)

If you were lucid, would it be possible to bring someone else into the dream? Or have any of you ever experienced a dream that someone else also had the same time?

Multiple people having the same dream isn't all together unheard of, but I would imagine it happens more by chance then anything else. I would assume it's possible to bring other people into your dreams, but I haven't the faintest clue how one would accomplish such a task.

You can bring someone into your dream, but not them. It'd be interesting to try though, maybe next time I have a lucid dream I'll try that.

I had a lucid dream last night, but when I realised I was in a dream, I couldnt decide what I actuially wanted to do. Maybe next time I'll try bringing someone else in with me.

In my dream the thought of this being a dream crossed my mind. I couldnt decide what to do with it. I looked down and saw tiny mushrooms growing in a pattern across the ground. I bend down and picked one. I looked at it and decided it safe to eat. I ate it and as I stood up from my crouch I grew very tall. I towered over the land and all the mushrooms turned into full sized trees - I was that big. I took about 3 to 5 steps forward - carefully avoiding the trees. Every step of the way returned me to my normal size. I finally was left back in the field - no more mushrooms in sight. My dream then continued as it was before I knew it was a dream.

I am no expert but I do have some experience in lucid dreaming, the last time I had one, I dreamed with my friend, in the dream I gave him a password, so he could repeat to when we were awake,
Well he did not remember any dream with a password or me.
We can come to two conclusions, 1 he was just a dream friend all in my head, or two he was not able to recollect the dream, I will go toward the first one.
But the experiment should be done with two lucid dreamers instead of one like in my case.

I think you would both have to be at the same level of lucidness and be trying to contact each otherwhen lucid. That would be a hard task to accomplish, but I'm sure if it is a goal for two people, then it can be attained with a lot of time.

Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

Life is a dream. Just talking to someone and agree with him is living the same dream. Doing things with people and notice that they think about the same things at the same time is dreaming together. Loving and be loved is another kind of dreaming together.

I know, it doesn't seem so cooooooooolll as "lucid dreaming", but it's worth realising and learning the rules of real-dreaming.

LilMerlin, just wording ideas.

See, I kinda don't think it is possible. Even when you see your friends in your dreams, the way to gain higher levels of lucidity is to realize that they are just parts of you. They are only in your mind, they are not really your friends. I just think the danger in doing this is training your brain to interact with them like they are real people, and not being able to gain theses higher levels of lucidity. I mean, when you see them in your dream, they are just parts of your brain, if you don't realize that then it is really really easy to think that you are in real life after a scene change or two...
