Outdoor bed is dormant?
    #7877242 - 01/14/08 07:19 AM (16 years, 18 days ago)

I made an outdoor bed out of straw, cow manure and spawn.. i think i have a feeling the top layer of peatmoss is trapping in the shrooms.. its about an inch deep. i can take off a little of that layer and see mycelium all over.

my question is, i see other mushrooms fruiting literally 5 feet away but no cubes have popped up. wat should i do?

do i need to wait till spring to see anything, or are they being trapped inside the peatmoss

How long ago did you make the bed and what climate are you in?

i made it about 2 months ago.. sub tropical climate.. barely above sea level.. its pretty much a built up tropical paradise were dead people come to turn into zombies in the usa.

im thinking about stripping off the inch of peatmoss and putting down a thin ass layer to try n get some fruits

If it's warm enough and wet enough you should be ok with a thinner top layer as long as you can keep the humidity up.
