Ok hi guys, im a n00b.
I live in lovely Sacramento and picked these in Lincoln (30 something mins away towards marysville)
These were picked today!


Habitat: Wooded area growing from rotting oak stumps or cow sh*t
Gills: Rusty color
Stem: Skinny, Rusty Color, Fragile
Cap: Rusty, sometimes striped 0.5 to 1 inch diameter
idk about spore prints
Bruising: They do everywhere
Location: Northern Cali
I believe this to be the same kind, but dark (dead?)

I'll edit as i upload more pics

Habitat: Rotting oak stumps
Gills: Light/White with blue towards the middle almost at the stem
Stem: Light/White, Skinny
Cap: Greyish Brown
idk about spore prints
Bruising: Yes everywhere
Location: Northern Cali

They work fine for me (the pics) Lbm's (little brown mushrooms) hard to identify Most guides say just to stay away from them.
I went on my first hunt today also. I found some oyster mushies

1) http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Mycena_purpureofusca.html 2) Hard to say, maybe a Psathyrella or Panaeolus sphinctrinus (the latter is likely if it was found on dung, the former if not) 3) We will need some photos of younger speciemens and the spore print color to make a good guess. Its nothing active or edible.

yeah i noticed a lil later after i had posted this, that there was a section of actives in northern cali. Now i know what to look for and I know i've seen some. The rather large kinda ugly orange/yellow mushroom i thought for sure it was a bad one but I guess not.

sacramento and grass valley suck!!! I found these in placer county

i have been to mexico plenty of times also and it sucks. The number of times that I have been there does no effect whether or not it sucks. gv is a nice are but it sucks!
