Early pinning . . 1st time pftek

Hey guys quick question. I've got 11 1/2 pints going and all of them are just about fully colonized. However, 1 of them has a pin on it but the bottom of the jar is not colonized at all. I'm wondering if I should just birth this one asap once it's colonized and not worry about doing the dunk and roll. Well I guess I didn't phrase that into a question. Any tips would be sweet.. Thanks

if it were me, i would wait for the jar to finish colonizing.. if it doesn't look like it's going to finish, pull it and cut off the uncolonized portion and dunk it then make sure you cover the part you cut off with lots of dry vermiculite to deter contams..
it may have stalled for may reasons.. pics would be greatly beneficial to help identify why and your best course of action.

Thanks guys for replying.. Here are some pics for you. BTW this is about 3 weeks incubating at about 71 - 73 degrees F. Strain is GT.

Sometimes the bottoms of jars are stubborn. If any kind of moisture pools up down there, it can take ages for the myc to finally colonize that area. Try flipping it over and giving it a few days to see if that's not your problem.

if it was me i would just wait for it to finish colonizing, but it's up to you..
if you are going to let it finish then i suggest turning the jar upside down and knocking it down a little bit to get it some room to breathe/grow.

sounds good to me.. I just turned it upside down. So I shouldn't really be worried about contamination then?

Are you keeping it at incubator temp (80ยบ) and out of the light? Best bet to avoid pinning is to avoid the triggers.
And flipping them really does help.

yea your sub was way too wet. flipping is a wonderful idea which helps the colonization of the bottom of regular mouth jars. A friend i know always had to wait till the top half was colonized then itd decide to get the bottom. but he says he like regular mouth jars better.
