uneven substrate
    #7871988 - 01/13/08 01:04 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I have a 30 gal tub bout 4-5 in full of coir/coffee substrate around 80% colonized. Today was the first day that I looked at it since spawning (which was 6 days ago) anywaysIi guess in my haste during the spawning i left the substrate pretty uneven and it has hills and valleys in it.

Now I do know this is not conducive to getting a pinset once cased b/c the mycellium will obviously break through the casing layer where the hills where first.

So I figure I have two options either leave it as is and just case and then patch till i felt it had all evened out or and this is what Ive been leaning too once the substrate is 100% colonized I could sort of break up the hills and fill in the valleys and level it all out then let it recolonize the broken up sub and then case.

What do you guys think i should do?

so no one thinks it would be better to just even out the substrate once it was 100% colonized and then let it re colonized the parts which were broken up?

If you break its gonna need more time to get it to hold together again like it was, just takes more time...case it
