Spore print is taking longer. Wanted to see if any pros could quick ID it as my dog has eaten them before but is fine.

This may be a tough one to give a quick ID on.
Was it growing directly on wood? A log? How rotten was the wood?
What does the mushroom smell like?
Is the cap and/or stem tough or fragile or somewhere inbetween?

Tough, harder to cut with scissors than would think for a mushroom.
Further inspection reveals that the group(maybe 4 or 5 mushrooms) were growing from underneath one of the fallen branches where some of the wood has slightly decomposed/become saturated amongst the soil/where some small wood pieces are.
Fairly large, typical smell that white store bought mushrooms have.
Wood faily old but not very rotten, orange wood has no bark so its just pretty much sitting on the soil where the shroomies are growing from.

It looks like it may be Pleurotus dryinus, if it is, it should have a white spore print. This is just a guess. The well developed ring on the stem is a little weird for dryinus.

I'm inclined to go with an Armillaria (Honey Mushroom).
Shroopy, I'm not sure where "East Bay" is (California?), but that would be important information in an ID like this.
Happy mushrooming!

Oops, honey mushroom, didn't even occur to me, the color is unusual. It does look like a honey mushroom.

Hey shroopy, I think Toxicman's ID correct. Honey mushrooms also have a white spore print. Honey mushrooms are like a dozen species and this may be a species that I am unfamiliar with. Even within species of honey mushrooms there is a lot of variation in color. The general shape and everything else matches honey mushrooms well.
The color of the mushroom, the little black spots of fuzz on the stem and extent of fibers on the cap, when I first saw it threw me off.
Thanks Toxicman.
