I've heard a lot about Vampire Weekend online recently, but haven't checked them yet.
Thanks!

David Byrne wrote about them on his blog, saying "They remind me of early Talking Heads, something I don't quite mind." ha.

Are you talking about Rather Ripped or is there a newer one?

Yeah, Cloud Cult was a nice surprise when I found them by browsing random myspace pages a while back. I really dig them.

The only Sonic Youth cds I could find that were released since Rather Ripped were a re-release of Daydream Nations and The Destroyed Room: B-Sides and Rarities.

Dude. This Vampire Weekend record is incredible. I know I tend to flip for things pretty easily but my god. it's so polished and yet so real.

The craziest part is that I don't think this is the official album. When I was looking it up, it matched an unfinished copy.
It's fucking great.

Yeah, I believe this is a pre-print. When the official album drops, I will upload it also.

MGMT and Yeasayer are playing in Houston next weekend. I might go check it out, depending on how tired I am. I wish I didn't have to get up at 6 the next day.
