True Blue Foray ( Same Genera - Mixed Species ?) East Bay
    #7873051 - 01/13/08 11:42 AM (16 years, 19 days ago)

I'm pretty sure these are active, but I always seem to find them when they are wind and rain damaged, go figure. I would like a confirmation on my ID. I feel they are Cyano Friscosa, for lack of a better name. However, there are some with undulating margins, which may be Cyanescen? Not sure any opinions? Also, I would love for at least one to be a P. Subaeruginascens, since they can be found here. Waylit, MJ shroomer can you help on a I.D.? I found them cespitorse to gregarious in wood chips, Caps hygrophanous, no separable gelatinous pellicle. Stem stained blue black. Some caps are undulating at the margins, some gills seem to hang a bit. Found in Bamboo and other tree cover. The only one I'm not sure about is maybe the small one in the middle in the second photo. And the small one in the last photo. I haven't seen them before at this newly emerging stage. see photos and prints below.

Damn, you're having quite the streak here lately. Chanterelles, oysters, now cyans. Awesome man. Those are cyanescens or cyanofriscosa. Enjoy.

These are Psilocybe cyanofriscosa.

You will know Psilocybe subaeruginascens when you find it because it will have a persistent annulus near the middle of the stipe and smaller subrhomboid spores.
