It really is incredible how much of a difference headphones make when listening to good tunes. The depth is just incredible.

I love finding headphones that really do a great job of crisply capturing the stereo effects in music too..

What are you guys listening through? Like, which brands and models? I am looking into getting a new pair. I do a lot of pleasure listening but also do a lot of mixing/mastering/editing.

I really prefer Sennheisers, though mine broke and I'm using some 5 year old crappy Sony's a friend gave to me for the moment.
These are great though I find the shape of the over-the-head arch a little weird sometimes.

I listen through AKG M70 Stereo headphones... I don't know how much they were cuz I got them for Christmas, but i was told they were not much. They're real nice though.

Eventually I want to have one pair of expensive, high-quality Sennheisers for home use, and another cheaper pair for portable use.

Sennheiser headphones are a-fucking-mazing. I recently destroyed my pair and am also using a pair of Sonys. But my god do I miss my Sennheisers.

I've found that when it comes to headphones, it tends to be a matter of personal taste.
IMHO, Sennheisers are pretty crappy (I've checked out SEVERAL models from $60-$600) and NONE compare the quality of my former JVC HA-D810's or my current Stanton DJ-PRO 3000's.
I love my Stantons! Best headphones I've ever heard! (Yes, they're a bit bass-heavy, but I like that.)

I can understand liking another brand better, but do you really think $600 Sennheisers are "crappy"?

they are i swear you hear like the paper cheap sound humming on the outside, and it almost sounds like it is mono, but not really.. but 1 dollar headphones make you happy anyway, because it drowns out the sound of the outside world just as nice.

Compared to the Stanton DJ-PRO 3000's, side-by-side, YES. Overpriced JUNK!
