Too Many Shrooms per Cake?

I just grew for the first time on one pint cakes. They have just started to develop pins. On one cake I counted 46 pins growing on it. Is this too many mushies on one cake? Will they all get big or will their size be effected by the number of mushrooms? How many flushes can I expect to get off each cake with this many shrooms?

PICS!
dude you're ocd you counted all of the pins on one cake? haha..
i dont think there's a such thing as too much..
most of them probably wont mature and if they all do then you might have some kind of record...
make sure what you're counting is actually a pin..
usually if you have a bunch of pins like that you will have a bunch of smaller shrooms instead of a few larger ones.. not a big deal..

The first flush of a cake often consists of a lot of shrooms. The next flushes usually consists of less shrooms but bigger shrooms. The total yield (weight) of the next flushes will be less though. To summarize your harvest: everything is fine, the next flush will produce less shrooms. IOW, don't worry, you'll get less..

Often, the mycelium will set way more pins than it can support. Since there's no way a pf cake can support 48 mature mushrooms, expect the majority to abort. Start really giving it a lot of water. You can put a pile of verm on top of the cake and then keep it wet. RR

If their all in clusters expect one or two to dominate that cluster. Some of my first cakes had pins like a mofo, I still only got about 6 grams dry from one flush. Which isn't bad I guess.
