I can personally vouch for "Driveway Heat" as well.

Hehe... That figures... It's commonly used to melt ice for making ice cream, so just tell them you have an ice cream maker and need it to melt the ice to freeze your ice cream! Tell them to go out back to the warehouse and get one of the thousand bags they have stacked on the pallet out there.

Or... Go to a smaller store like Ace Hardware or Tru Value Hardware that doesn't rotate seasonal goods, or keeps the seasonal goods handy out in the back.

Or... Find a store that sells ice cream makers... They'll have Ice-Melt.

Or... Buy the cat litter crystals that are made of pure silica gel instead.

Hope this helps.

Home Depot & many other building supply places have rock & pellet salt @ $4 for a 40 pound bag used for water softeners. Plus road rock salt @ same price. Any big chain grocery store will have large bags of "pickling salt" for cheap. SixTango
