All American Pressure Cookers, Canners and Sterilizers..which is the difference?

Hello, I really can't solve this enigma.
(I'm referring to all the 41 quarts ones)
I've seen on http://www.pressurecooker-outlet.com/american.htm they sell 3 different kinds of All American, or better 4.
- All American Pressure Cookers - All American Pressure Canners - All American Sterilizer (NON ELECTRIC) - All American Sterilizer (ELECTRIC)
For what i've understood the:
- All American Sterilizers achieve the 17psi, 2 psi in more the others All American Pressure Cookers and Canners
- All American Sterilizer (ELECTRIC) have a automatic thermostatic control, automatic release valve, and pilot light. But it should have a removable aluminum inner container with rack, that has got this dimensions:
- Inside Depth - 10 1/4 inches
- Inside Diameter - 14 inches
- Circumference - 44 1/2 inches
- Capacity - 27 Quarts
Questions:
- is necessary the inner container?
- what's the pilot light?
- what's the automatic release valve?
- what's the automatic thermostatic control?
..beside the:
- All American Sterilizer (NON ELECTRIC) has got a pilot light and a inner container of this dimensions:
- Inside Depth - 10 1/2 inches
- Inside Diameter - 14 inches
- Circumference - 44 1/2 inches
- Capacity - 28 Quarts
Questions:
- is necessary the inner container?
- which is the difference between All American Pressure Cookers and All American Canners?
Thanks, Fabio

the pilot light indicates that the device is working similar to your pilot light in your furnace.

The one with inner container is for Spawn Bags
The one with out is for jars.

Personally, I'd recommend a canner over a sterilizer, and don't get anything with automatic release. You want the steam pressure to very slowly decrease. RR

I seem to have very bad luck with bags in my canner. Always seem to get at least one blowout. Bags may cost 30cents a piece but the efficiency is more than paid for in one run.

I have a sure fire tek to prevent bags from blowing out. They pop as the pressure cooker cools, when it's still nearly 250F inside the bags, but cooler in the PC which has its surfaces exposed to the outside air.
Roll up a tyvek wrist sleeve in the bag as you fold the top over. This will allow steam to vent so the bag doesn't balloon, but as the bag cools and tries to pull a vacuum, the tyvek filters any air entering the bag. I give a visual demonstration of this tek on Let's Grow Mushrooms in the sawdust/woodchip chapter. RR

YidakiMan: Here in Europe the bags arrives at 0,74€ eachone, from the official Unicorn bags seller. You can think yourseld luck
Roger..rrr!: I was thinking about your tek Roger in the last days, and I bet it works also if you use some long stripes of the polyfill used as filter for the furnaces.
To everybody: About the AA941: Is it sold with the aluminun "rack" to separate the jars from a level to another level?
Thank, Fabio

no, you just get one rack, and you just stack them in there.

Questions:
* is necessary the inner container? for bags it helps to keep them from melting * what's the pilot light? nothing, don't worry about it. * what's the automatic release valve? a valve that is included with the unit so it doesn't explode (safety device) * what's the automatic thermostatic control? Controls the temperature, it turns off when it hits the certain temp.
* is necessary the inner container? Yes, if you want to do bags. * which is the difference between All American Pressure Cookers and All American Canners? Cookers and Canners are the same thing.
