Cant Find Vermiculite anywhere

First off thanks for taking the time to read another newbie post. I live in maryland which is east coast usa. I cant find the right vermiculite anywhere. Everywhere i go they either dont have it or try to sell me this very fine type. I have been to Home Depot, Lowes, 4 Plants shops, 2 pet shops and have had no luck in any of these places. once again thanks for your time and sorry about cluttering board space with such a stupid post.

There's nothing wrong with the fine stuff. It's actually better for casings. It requires more moisture (water) to get the right consistency for jars though, but works FINE.

Not sure if you have them up there but I get mine at Ace Hardware or True Value. They have nice small bags instead of those 80lb ones they sell at Home Depot. Good Luck.

I dont use fine grain verm. And i havent had any problems. If your really worrying about finding it order off uline.com They give you a big fucking box of the shit that will last you longer then you probably need

Every Wal-Mart that I have checked has stopped carrying vermiculite. I've had my best results at Lowe's and various specialty gardening stores.

Thanks for both of the posts. We have an ace hardware about 25 minutes away and ill check it out and if not ill just go with the fine stuff.

I would buy off of uline.com except they have a 2 order minamum and i dont have $32 + shipping to spend on vermiculite. thanks for the input though. I try wal mart and kmarts tommorrow.
