Washing your hair every day is so unnecessary. And no I am not a dirty hippie. I have very curly hair that I take excellent care of, and even if I get my hair wet every day I don't necessarily wash it every day. In fact (and a very gay successful stylist confirmed for me that this was the right move) my hair isn't good to shampoo every day. My hair hates shampoo. I shampoo it maybe once a month. Condition it every few days. That's it.

that's the only reason i do it.
but i've been reading more into it and washing hair once a week or once every two weeks is what's really the better thing.
i don't like wearing my hair up, or i would. even then, it just looks gross if i go a few days without washing.. but maybe if my hair gets used to it, it will change it's productivity of oils?

yes this is BECAUSE you shampoo it everyday. you wash off the normal coating off the grease your
scalp puts out and force the scalp to reproduce it pronto because its gone!
next day the same, it adapts and produces a lot more to begin with cuz itll be gone soon again.

got urself there, once max twice a week is perfectline fine.

depends, i get filthy at my job, so during the week i wash it every day, but on the weekends and when im not working, about every 3-4 days.

i used to wash my hair with ACV when i was single, but my fiance hates the smell so i dont use that anymore lol.

my hair gets super oily in a day or two, but i only wash it with either anti-bacterial soap or soap made from plant material (not antibacterial) once a week if even. it might get washed with water once or twice a week.

i shower when i can start to smell myself or if i've sweated a hell of a lot (i have pretty oily skin too, naturally, i suppose)

during the winter/cold, i may go 3-4 days without showering, during the summer usually no less than every two days if i haven't been active at all...every other day is the norm.

I have fairly long hair. Used to be alot longer. I have found that washing it about twice a week is best. And I almost never use a hair dryer.(not that you asked) They are horrible for your hair.

I still take showers everyday tho.

Instead of washing it so much, try brushing it more. That will help disperse some of the oil down the hair follicle.

Every few days I find my way to the shower and even then I just use hemp soap. Personally, I think people clean themselves way too often and are probably doing more harm than good, particularly in regard to ones immune system.

Most of the oils will come from your environment. Washing your pillow case once a week will help that.

As for the ACV, I use it a lot. I wasn't aware you can wash hair with it. If you think ACV would be irritating or damaging to your hair, then try Burt's Bees shampoos. This is what I use once a week. It is 99% natural so it won't make your wig, wig out.;)

My hair is so short I don't even think brushing would do anything.

i can't brush my hair, it's curly.
therefore if it gets oily i can't just put a little bit of baking powder in it either.
berts bees shampoo. i'll have to try that out.

i cant ever go that long without at least jumping in the shower and rinsing off, but thats only because my armpits have a very pungent odor to them and i dont wear deodorant. i perspire alot. so, i get in the shower daily to at least give myself a water shower and scrub my pits a bit, unless of course im not going anywhere for a couple days and i have noone to impress

apple cider vinegar is great. it has several uses. its good for your health whether you drink/eat it, wash your face/hair with it or whatever. you can get rid of nail fungus and athletes foot with it too.

I wash my hair everytime I shower (3x/wk. Winter, 5x/wk. Summer), but I alternate between a moisturizing shampoo & a product-removing shampoo.

I agree that my hair & skin become more oily when I wash them more often, especially with detergents. I got rid of all detergent-containing soaps, use natural soap VERY sparingly, and don't have problems with dry OR oily skin anymore.

If your hair continues to get oily, even when you cut down on washing, you might look in to dietary changes.
