How old is too old for horse poo?
    #785992 - 07/30/02 09:05 AM (22 years, 7 months ago)

Ok, I just scored some horse poo! Hopped right over the fence with my plastic bag from wally-world, and filled 'er up. Some of the poo I picked up was really dry to the point where it would crumble upon picking it up. To me, this indicated that it may have been there for a while, so my question is this: can my poo be too old to still have good nutrient value, and if so, how do I know what poo is good and what isn't?

in my friends experence age didn't really seem to matter. the older the better usually. He has gathered really old poo that also crumbled really easly and still got great results from it.

I do believe that I am seeing an advantage to having our own horse pasture...

In my experiences you want the dryest shit you can find so your answer is yes it is good and you should be ok, usually the older the better since its more dry.

the best thing to do with any doodoo is too let it sit out in the sun for a day. spread it out some were it wont be disturbed and pasturize it the next morn. the drier the less it smells.

If it is too old to use, you probably won't see it.
