search 'dunk and roll'

and a friend of a friend is known to do this to increase their yields.

yes the results are worth the extra day.

More moisture=bigger shrooms

Personally, I have had good results soaking my small brf cakes for one to three hours, they seem totally saturated after that time and I notice no difference to soaking them for 24 hours.

i think it depends how much moisture your cakes need.. say if they are looking hella dry they maybe take longer..

it isn't the cake material you want to saturate. You want to give the actual cells of the mycelium time to suck up lots of water

rolling in verm causes the verm to stick the wet cakes. Once the verm is adhered to the cakes well, you can mist the cakes. Water is absorbed in the verm and it serves as a good method to get the best pinset out of a cake instead of one or three fat shrooms from one cake.

Which's more, 30g's of 2 fatties or 30g's of 9 smaller shrooms? :smirk:

The smaller shroomies would be better because smaller shrooms are more potent...

For mycelium to pin well, near 100% humidity is essential, rolling in vermiculite works similar to a casing. Which provides a microclimate for the myc and also as a moisture reserve.
