Genetic engineering

recombinant DNA technology

genetic modification/manipulation

gene splicing

pretty much all the same stuff, but it's very real and it's going to happen whether some people like it or not. maybe not in america, but definitely somewhere in the world.

Cross the genes of a cat and a human. Replace the humans eyes with cat's eyes.

That would be sweet.

Learn to create humanoids, cyborgs etc.

What else do you think will occur in the next 100 years?

Third world war.

Mass deaths and starvation from a multitude of factors caused by, global climate change, population increase, pollution, war, etc.

Dark ages

Cycle begins again.

More new age predictions about a perfect world of enlightened beings.

I agree with Icelander.

But, where will we go to avoid the wars and strife? New Zealand? Australia? Will there be no safe haven?

Fucking nuclear bombs.....how can I ever enjoy animal crossing if I'm dead?

Nuclear war is the only one that I'm pretty sure about.

Go inside young Luke. Use the force. And if force doesn't work then run.

We all will die anyway even if no bad stuff happens. Best to accept life as it presents itself and make the best of it. That's the warriors way young Skywalker.

:mad2:

you condescending turd!

I kid, I kid...I know we will all die anyway, actually the way I look at it we keep dying and dying and dying all the time we are "alive".

Who is to say this is even "living"?  For this is all we know, perhaps this is the death we must go through to get to the living.

Its all the same, I believe.  But one shouldn't waste away in this realm of the dead.

Honestly though, its one of the things I continually fall back on (new perspective I've gained from personal experience) and try to integrate into my understanding of things.  The fact that we are dying to know what this dying is but at this moment we are dying anyway.

Its as if nothing was real but death.

I wish more humans could grow, process and hunt for themselves. My ideas would become readily apparent if this happened, I believe....

To be totally self sufficient in as many ways as possible is to know ones limitations and the impermanence with which we are enshrouded in.

Interesting POV and I mostly agree.

I wonder what would be the point of life without death?

The slope becomes more slippery and more slippery with us getting more advanced and powerful with our developments of technology.
So for me it's about balance, and there mentality starts first. No high developed thing will lead us to a better world unless we changed our consciousness from this egomania trip to worldwide compassion (shortly said).
Then, almost everything (good) can be possible - even in a quite short span of time...
If we won't develop our consciousness first and were overrun by our technologies, we will most definitely fall. Together.
