I just have a quick question. Do you think, on average, that a 20 cm. san pedro cutting would be enough for a one person trip?

Maybe for a very low dose. LOL why don't you just let it grow a little. I think the smallest Ive done was about 12 inches.Go ahead and try it out.

20cm = 7.8 inches
Potency varies from specimen to specimen. Let's say you have an average potency specimen. I had 6 inches my first time and it was very mild, but beautiful.
What affects the trip is the method of preparation and how fast you consume it. I consumed it very slowly, thus a very slow onset. It was so slow, that I thought I had a dud:) Well, 2 hours later the texture on my kitchen wall flowed when I focused on it.
Definitely go for it. Mescaline is an experience YOU WANT. The cactus is a very wise and ancient teacher--if that's what you are in for.
How will you be preparing it?

I think it's something like 30g (wet) of San Pedro gives a decent trip. I'm not at all sure though so don't quote me on it.

I hope your not chopping a live cactus? Let it live!. There are plenty of San Pedro vendors online that sell organic, high quality cuttings at a great price. PM me!

30g of wet san pedro won't do a thing. Even 30g of dry won't do much.

Thanks for the replies. Im thinking of buying it from a online vendor. The ad just says 20 - 25 cm San pedro cutting. It dosent mention the width of it. Maybe i should look around at different vendors and see if i can find one which sells larger cuttings. The whole boiling it down preparation seems like a allot of effort. Could i just cut it into slices and eat it raw, with some honey or something to hide the bitterness?

I'm also wondering if you can just do this.

You could just eat it raw, but its going to be hell on your digestive system, even with a cast iron stomach. Boiling it down really isn't that bad, just put on a movie or 2 and tend to your pot to make sure it doesn't boil over or burn. I would try to get at least 12", and then enjoy the ride the next 12 hours or so

I bought some san Pedro that are from a large old plant. I am getting 3 11 inch cuttings totaling 10lbs in weight. So each 11incher would be 3.3 pounds approximately. How many people would this do for a regular trip seeing as though it is from an old large thick cactus? Would this make any difference in potency?

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Theres really no telling for sure. A thick 11" should be great for single dose. How thick are you talking about? like 4"?

Here's how to prep' Trichocereus cactus.
1)Remove all the spines and areoles with a knife 2)Peel off the waxy skin 3)Cut off the outer green layer between the waxy skin and white center. 4)Discard the white core. 5)Dry the green flesh on a grid or wire mesh, in a dark room with a fan.
Once the cactus is dry it will keep for a good long time.
You can then eat it straight, brew it up, or prep' it in a number of other ways.

That was good advice, but remember thickness varies greatly from cactus to cactus.
A general rule for different species is that T. peruvianus is twice as stong as T. pachanoi.
T. bridgesii is three times as strong as T. pachanoi.
Again, it's extremely variable,
But those are some good ideas to go by....

I did it. It only dried for about 6 hours the night before, and then I ate it. Only a little bloating, and that was it.
Sure, it was gross, but if you don't keep gagging like a little bitch you won't be all sick for the rest of the night.

So what makes eating raw cactus so bad? I tried a little bit once and actually liked the taste, kind of like a celery sort of taste with a fruit texture... I don't know, but it certainly wasn't bad. So eating a lot would just make you nauseous then?

Sometimes there will be pecks of extreme bitterness which is just ICKY.
But yeah, a majority of it was mild. I even ate the spines with no problems! That might hurt on a peru though.
