I'm on my third week of Wellbutrin/Zyban/Buprurion and it's fucking awesome!
You take it for 10 days and still smoke, then double the dose and just quit. By the 8th day, I was finding myself "skipping" smoke breaks and forgetting to smoke! On day 10, I just didn't want to smoke anymore.
It's been about 10 days or so smokefree, and I haven't cracked... I almost smoked one last week playing poker, but the first drag just didn't do anything for me, so I put it out and never looked back.
If you aren't prone to seizures, check it out!
Oh, and by the way... IT FEELS AWESOME TO BREATHE !!
You can notice a difference in 10 days.

Good luck with it, if you want to quit just use the patch and be strong.

Good work man. 72 hrs without THC for me.

I've tried the patch a few times. It worked for about a week or two, and then I'd crack. It just didn't cover the mental urges I guess. That's why I went with the pill... so far, so good. It's different than the patch... you just "forget" about smoking in a way.

i quit over a year and a half ago sooo much better
it was strange at first but after that initial weird detachment phase where i bought no more, it wasn't too bad. i didn't use pills or patches or anything (i think nicotine substitutes especially defeat the purpose), i just bought an ounce of good weed and decided to smoke that every time i wanted a cigarette.
i think i had more trouble with the psychological breakaway than the physical part of the addiction though. i was one of those obsessive people who usually had 2 packs in my bag, planning my next trip to the store, planning my next cigarette, planning to have another one right after..
the nice thing is i'm not suffering from chronic bronchitis all the time anymore. among all the other benefits.. the other nice thing is that on the very rare occasion i want to smoke one, when i'm hanging out with a friend, i can smoke just one and not even think about wanting another one or buying a pack. its just such a non-habit now that i can't imagine getting back into it..

that was always my problem. with cigarettes, with meth, with opiates, with cocaine. i never get physical withdrawl, just mental, and i'm so anxious and panic-y sometimes.. ayahuasca helped a lot, for some reason. i did it a bunch of times and somehow it made me mentally more 'mature' and ready to give up the dumb shit i'd do. it wasn't immediate though.. it set in slowly over months/years.

yeah...I've noticed psychedelics always seem to help with that sort of shit - a lot (even if it was only for just a short time afterwards)
I'm just not able to do that sort of thing as often as I'd like to though

i don't know if i would have ever tried ayahuasca on my own. its a little bit intense, to say the least. someone else from here made it for me and did it with me a bunch of times. it just wasn't like the usual way psychedelics do that either, the way shrooms have that effect.. this was so delayed. it just changed something in my brain for the better that really set in after a couple years. so crazy. i'm still trippin on it.

just don't over-do it.

keep it up, dont give in.
today is exactly 4 weeks without smoking for me. no cravings either. i smoked for 4 years, the first year was light(a pack every two days), 2nd year was heavy(at least a pack a day), and the last 2 years were very light(4-5 a day).
i quit cold turkey because i had a cold and i feel fine without smoking now.
