Man is timid and apologetic; he is no longer upright; he dares not say "I think," "I am," but quotes some saint or sage. He is ashamed before the blade of grass or the blowing rose.Man postpones or remembers; he does not live in the present, but with reverted eye laments the past, or, heedless of the riches that surround him, stands on tiptoe to foresee the future. He cannot be happy and strong until he too lives with nature in the present, above time

I've been on a Cake kick lately. Awesome stuff. I've always known about 'em, but never got into 'em. Just recently downloaded their discography. Now I'm in Cake heaven. Great stuff when you're blazed, but even better on acid.

Hmm... specific songs... These are good:

Cake - Satan Is My Motor
Cake - Mexico
Cake - When You Sleep
Cake - Shadow Stabbing
Cake - Wheels
Cake - No Phone
Cake - Hem of Your Garment
Cake - Let Me go
Cake - Where Would I Be

Maybe I'll upload when i'm home from work...

Uhhhh... was that really necessary? Because it's pretty interruptory, intrusive, and annoying.

Cake- Wheels

god theres been a few times where i have laid back in my bed or passenger seat in the car and simply been blown away by this song, especially at the end when there are three verses being sung at the same time.

Indeed... I love the verses in that one... excellent melody.

Cake has many excellent songs. It's actually kind of astounding.

slightly stoopid's new[ish] album chroncitis is pretty cool for smoking.
they have a lot of reggae in their sound as well, so you'd probably like it.

I like to smoke and listen to Beck's Guero and Guerolito back to back.

Also the Autolux album Future Perfect is a good one for listening to on substances.

and album by The Books. Really trippy stuff, a lot of samples and voices but to a more acoustic mellow feel than most sample stuff.

Slightly Stoopid is an awesome band to smoke to. The album chronchitis is pretty good but I kinda like their album Closer to the Sun more.

Any reggae. Groundation is an AMAZING band.

closer to the sun sounds a lot more like the old stoopid but i really like chroncitis, they tried some new shit and some of it is pretty relaxing. 2am and above the clouds are way sick. good call tho food

Chronchitis is really good, I love 2am, Blood of My Blood, and a bunch of others. But there are still a couple of others on the album that I don't like too much. I can't think of no names right now though.

When I saw them live they played Comb 4 My Dome, it was epic. Really the only moment I can remember from that show.

Check out Madlib's "Blunted in the Bomb Shelter" mix.  Bunch of old school reggae tunes cut and patched together to create an awesome smoking soundtrack
