Lateralus, without a doubt. The whole album.
Read the lyrics with the song.
Tool - Lateralus
Black then white are all I see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see. As below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn beyond the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.
Black then white are all I see in my infancy. red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me. lets me see there is so much more and beckons me to look through to these infinite possibilities. As below, so above and beyond, I imagine drawn outside the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.
Feed my will to feel this moment urging me to cross the line. Reaching out to embrace the random. Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.
I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human.
With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in. I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out. I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.
-------------------- As the life of a candle, my wick will burn out. But, the fire of my mind shall beam into infinite.

Aenima, the whole album.
It's their masterpiece.

10,000 days is the only CD I have listened to front to back while tripping and it was a great experience, but overall I prefer aenima and lateralus.
you should also check out their music videos, that would be pretty crazy tripping. It might be a little bit too scary though.

The extensions in late 2007 were quite different than the 06 shows, which were bad ass too.
My jaw literally dropped, it was like a sneak preview of the sound of 2012.
Please let me know if anyone finds a decent Winter 2007 bootleg.

the whole lateralus cd is the best to trip to. tool is one of my favorite bands, but 10,000 days kinda gets on my nerves while tripping.

full concert
this is a full concert.. the sound is a little flat, but it's pretty bad ass. when parabola plays the balls from the music vid float in the air, pretty cool. i saw them in san diego last year, great great great show. just wish i was a little closer to the stage

I cant believe it! I just dloaded that show last night! It's the PERFECT tool show! I saw them just a few months before that show and got a lesser setlist but an amazing experience. It's the concert by which all others are compared. I also went to their show on 12-14-07 in Las Vegas. I had VIP Box seats and it was amazing. Just got the pictures uploaded too. Here are a few:

yep, jambi was the kick off. aside from the different extension (which in all honesty i don't recall - have a few bootlegs of those shows so i will go back and check, lol) they had a new intro as well. It was just the same as the intro on the Vicarious DVD. the blue tool logo and some loud noise. lol. Here's my review of the 12-14-07 show. I still haven't found a bootleg of that show so if anyone has it i'd love to trade. Oh, btw. i paid 150 for the ticket from ticketbastard 3 or so days before the show. :P
review: I was at this show on Friday night. I drove 6 hours just to see it. I was sick so after the show i just went to my room and went to bed then got up in the morning and drove straight home. Anyway, I made the decision to go to this one about a week ago. I tried ebay and craigslist but had no luck as of Tuesday night. Then i tried ticketmaster and got lucky. But not just lucky - real fucking lucky. The seat was in VIP box 215. We had private bathrooms, private lounge, bar, slutty waitresses. And in the lounge they had a few plasmas that displayed what was being presented on the screens on each side of the stage and behind the band. Best seats in the house. Anyway, when the band came on they did a TOOL introduction on the screens that was new (since 5/6/7 in tucson). It was very cool. Just some sound and the word tool in a cool blue color spread across the four screens in back. I was really hoping that they would mix the set list up, but how can you be disappointed after a tool show? lol, i can not be. I am going to go on a limb here and venture to guess that in the month following the release of the vicarious DVD they announce a whole slew of US or foreign dates. To be honest i think they can do a lot more with the show and will WANT to include some of the features from the video into their show.
