Has anyone heard about the 2009 ZR1?
Bitch is bad.
2009 LS9 6.2L V-8 engine
2009 Corvette ZR1
Engine: 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 Power: 620-horsepower, 585-pound-feet torque Transmission: Six-speed manual Assembled: Bowling Green, Ky. Curb weight: 3,350 pounds Features: Widened carbon fiber fenders 19-inch front wheels, 20-inch rear wheels Exposed carbon fiber exterior pieces. Source: General Motors Corp.

The car is an investment. I've heard rumors that there are only supposed to be 2000 made, but when I called the dealership they said only a few hundred. Most cars depreciate, but this one will do the opposite. Price tag is supposed to be between $100,000 and $120,000.
The only thing... I wouldn't want to make any changes to it. I'd be too afraid it would have an effect on it's ability to appreciate.
BUT...
If you take a Z06 and take it to Lingenfelter, they have a package that'll bring your car up to 630hp and 575lbs of torque (without a blower... ALL ENGINE). For how much??? around $15,000.
Engine removal & removal of intake manifold, cylinder heads, camshaft Lingenfelter full hand porting & polishing of cylinder heads for optimal flow Lingenfelter multi-angle valve job & surfacing for 11.5:1 compression Ferrea high performance dual valve springs, titanium retainers & valve locks Lingenfelter ZO6 GT19 camshaft by Competition Cams Lingenfelter High Flow C6 ZO6 Air Induction & 4" diameter Lingenfelter Mass Air Sensor Port Matched LS7 intake manifold Ported and polished LS7 throttle body GM Head gaskets & head bolts 160 degree thermostat Professional engine assembly and degreeing of camshaft. Professional engine installation, testing & tuning Chassis dyno report before & after installation Excellent drivability, highway mileage not adversely effected Lingenfelter 3 year/ 36,000 mile warranty Lingenfelter certificate of authenticity
Package price - $8,695.00 add Headers add exhaust Totals close to $15000 + the cost of the z06 $78,000
$93000 before tax
Have pretty much the same performance as the zr1 without any turbos or superchargers and for less $.

The Zr1 does have more than just engine modifications. There's so much more to it.

Conversing with yourself?
I don't know shit about cars, but I'm guessing even with similar performance, the zr1 would be far more likely to appreciate to a much higher price tag than a modded z06.

Yeah, I talk to myself alot.
The zr1 would appreciate better. It's a special edition vette.
As far as owning... I'd rather have the power without having to supercharge it.

My dream car too.
0-60 in 3.7 seconds (Car and Driver recorded a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds in their March 2007 comparison test.) 1/4 mile in 11.9 seconds (125 mph) 0-100 in 7.9 seconds

Yet every time I encounter one I never get to see it's stuff. It's always some 80 yr old guy driving it and I'm flying past him. A cavalier should not be going faster than a corvette.

I've known about it for a couple weeks. That pic is actually my desktop background.
