Uhhh, its hard to stick up for them when A) they are growing 120 plants and B) they had stolen items on their property. They sound more like white trash rednecks hiding behind the facade of being old. Maybe if they had 5 or 6 plants, but 120? Come on...

It's still ludicrous. Who cares how many plants there were, they weren't being a nuisance in any way. They are simply and old couple who are legitamly allwoed to smoke marijuana for medicinal reasons and who cares HOW much they grow. They are allowed to grow it and smoke it so does it matter how much they have? It's not like grandpa is on the block trying to hustle dime bags for a new walker with 20 inch rims?

Honestly...so rediculous..the police were probably jsut looking for a reason to prosecute them because they didn't like the idea of them being able to legally smoke marijuana..

Imagine, they are putting a t0+ year old couple in jail for up to 3 years for trying to help themselves and their friends when in need. They are authorized to do so, so what do the numeric values matter?

Oh, shit looks like the police caught me taking an aspirin for my headache, guess they'll throw the book at me...

More like 2 - 2 1/2 ounces (dry) per plant if done right..

Edit: I believe thats about 15 pounds roughly? Correct?

Like I said, if done correctly...

That is vague I suppose but I meant a high yielding a straight and proper LSTing as well as good organic ferts with a high P for budding.

And lotsa patience to ride it all the way through..

Will turn out 2 oz dry easy.

Quote:

Deputies didn't come to the couple's home that day expecting to find marijuana plants. They were looking for stolen property possibly left there by the couple's adult son, who was arrested two days earlier in connection with a construction site theft.

A half-dozen armed sheriff's deputies cut the padlock off the gate in front of the property and searched the premises before handing over a warrant to look for stolen goods, McCabe said.

Cates contends her son has never lived in the mobile home and that deputies searched it because she and her husband are relatively well-known activists for medical-marijuana rights.

Stolen articles were recovered at the house, authorities said.

Also, nowhere did I see anyone claim that the yield would be 120 lbs.
Not that I think that they should be hassled over pot, but you should read things more carefully.

Relax man. In a way I'm on your side here. I don't want to see anyone hassled over pot, be it a gram or 150 lbs.

That being said, I fail to see the point you were trying to make. We all know cops exaggerate street values and yields. You're on the Shroomery, after all; preaching to the choir and what not. But the cops in this case are making no such claims, so I fail to see how that pertains to this particular article.

Also, I don't see how you can claim that there was no stolen property found when the article clearly states, "Stolen articles were recovered at the house, authorities said." Nor do the accused refute this at any point in the article. Perhaps, if you have information that you have not posted, you should post it.

You sound just like a DARE cop to me.
Did you know that this elderly couple trapped kids in their grow house and made them work?
One of the kids bumped into a growlight and the Great-Grandmother cut his right arm off and fed it to the other starving kids.

While this bust was going down, the following occured in San Bernardino, Ca according to the cities crime statistics:
  • 2 forcible rapes occurred
  • 4 burglaries occurred
  • 10 car thefts occurred

Do these cops care about real crime being committed? Hell NO.
They are members of the marijuana suppresion unit, a task force that could be compared to a group of special olympic althetes patrolling our society.

I hope you make more sense in real life. Im on fucking shroomery Chemy, your preaching to the choir. But at the same time like I said in my original post, they did not come to the house because of marijuana. They came to look for stolen property and found THAT along with 120 plants. Its funny you listed those 4 burgalries, this could have been those cops investigating them. You re-read the article and get your facts straight. Are you trying to tell me 120 plants is for a nice fat personal stash?

Where did you hear this? The article identifies them only as sheriff's deputies. As I already said, if you have more information on this case you should post it here.

Quote:

The reason that they weren't charged with the stolen property was that the police already knew that their son stole the shit and stashed it at his parent's home.

I finally realized where you're getting this "Marijuana Suppression Unit" stuff from. The prosecutor who they handed the case to after they found the plants is with the prosecutor's office Marijuana Suppression Unit. That doesn't mean that the sheriff's deputies who executed a search warrant for stolen property were with any special unit. It makes sense that if this prosecutor's office has such a unit that this case would go to it.
Again, as much as I know that cops lie, given that they had a legal warrant, and they did happen to find 120 plants, there is really no good reason for them to lie in this case about whether or not they found stolen property.

no good reason to lie?

im fighting 5 lying corrupt pigs in court tomorow matter of fact

they have fabricated every bit of what happened that day to get themselves out of arresting/bashing and locking up the wrong guy....me

i cant wait to look in their eyes in court even though i'll probably lose but 'not guilty all the way to make the fucked up system pay' is my motto

i wasnt even given medical treatment all night and when they took me to jail the screws wouldnt accept me because of the obvious beating i copped so the pigs reluctantly took me to hospital before prison.

my elbow tendon was torn and i'll be suing them

cops have probably been after the old couple for years but they were too smart for them so they waited till one of their kids fucked up

cops arent the greatest thinkers you know.....tunnel visioned dogs that they are

I acknowledged that cops often lie, but in this case they have no reason to. They had a warrant. They found 120 plants. Cops frequently execute warrants without finding what they're looking for, with no repercussions, so why lie about finding stolen property that they aren't even charging this couple for (yet)?

they could have been tipped off about the stolen property so they could get on the property with probable cause and find what they were really after.

warrants for stolen property gives them probable cause and someone has narced them out

Could be. But why lie about finding stolen property once they had found the plants?

It sounds to me like they arrested the son for the robbery at the construction site, and either the son, or possibly an accomplice on the construction site theft, cracked under pressure from the police, and let it slip that they had stashed some of the stolen goods at the parents house.

cops presume the worst in every case against us

they use the smallest of motives and circumstances to make us out to be public enemies to put us away even when they know we might be innocent of any crimes

why not we?
