he didnt mention anything about consumption?
grafted plants will get bigger and prettied, but from what i hear have very little mescaline content. They will also grow a lot faster.
rooted peyote from seed will grow much slower, but will have a mescaline content similar to that of peyote found in mexico/texas. 1 seed will yeild 1 button... they take very long to pup when rooted is also my understanding.

wot the fuck does "yield" mean then
i dont think hes so stupid to think that 1 seed might "yield" more than one plant, thats just ridiculous and im surprised u wasted your time pointing out that fact...
i think u missed the point...

I wouldn't recommend growing l. williamsii if you're mostly looking for a high. Unless you're going to grow a shitload of them you probably won't want to eat them after tending to them for years. "A few years" is an understatement if you're growing them for consumption as well as you probably won't want to graft them.
That being said if you search hard and long enough and have enough money you can probably find somewhere that'll sell you matured own-root from seed buttons. Then you'll likely have to deal with customs and/or danger of frost depending where it's coming from.
It just seems like a waste to eat these endangered cacti even if they're cultivated in nurseries. They take so long to grow and can live for so long.
So basically all that I just typed means that I recommend you just go get some pedro or something :-P
