Can't keep any humidity in my terrarium

I've built a terrarium based on RR's video. I can't seem to get the humidity level to be above 84% - 85%.
Is it possible that I have too many holes in it and too much humidity is escaping?
See pics below ... the only reason there is any water on the walls is because I just misted it before taking the pics:

Thanks..

Does that include misting or is that just with the pearlite?

after misting it gets up to around 88% --- after not misting, down to around 84% from just the wet perlite.

Are you sure your hydrometer is calibrated if not that could be your problem.

Try putting some tape over a few of the holes...if that doesn't raise it anymore then your hydrometer probably needs calibration. Maybe adding some polyfill to a bunch but not all of the holes would still keep FAE up and allow for more humidity.

Thanks... the humidity meter is some crappy electric meter I just got from Wal-Mart... not sure if there is a way to calibrate it.
I'll cover up a few holes with masking tape to see if it helps.

Leave it, you're fine. Electric hygrometers from china are crap. That's fewer holes than I drill, but they look larger. I use 1/4 inch. As long as the holes are on all six sides, you should have plenty of humidity with that much perlite.
You can get a good hygrometer at any quality cigar shop for $15 to $20. Search 'calibrate hygrometer' and my name for the procedure I recommend. RR

Thanks .. I've moved the hygrometer to be just about 1 inch above the perlite and the humidity level is near 92 - 94% towards the bottom of the terrarium (after misting).

I asked the same question. It ended up bein my hygrometer. If you followed RR's video you should be fine. My FC has not budged from 100% since i got a new hygrometer.
