If it is to be evolution then the AI would have to create some seeds or programs or whatever that turned out to be bad. There would have to be miscalculations or limitations on its input of the enviornment around it. Some would evolve and others would devolve I guess.
Now what happens when the 1st AI starts communicating with its creation and uses its creation's input as well as its own input when creating the 3rd AI?
It would probably be named frank.......this is all starting to sound like some allegory for child care

its a good idea to have the parent communicate with the kid I guess.
imagian a new form of evolution. Picture this, they have mastered genetic engineering, you can mutate your body safely into anything you want... (pretend they have machines that can create some kind of special pill thats custom to what you want to happen to your body). What would you want to be? kinda the same idea for the computer when it makes its own seed or modifies itself, I just figure there will be some things that will be too hard to modify without starting over.

hyper intelligent? if you think humans are smart... you might be right, but it brings to question "compared to what?"

compared to what we think isn't smart

At some point you would have to destroy your own consciousness in order to create what you previously thought to have been worse, like you said. Like a better brain chemistry. But that would probably be a futile exercise, because your ideas of what is improvement would be subjective and prone to miscalculation, just like the AI thing, don't you think?
Right now I wouldn't be any different if genetics implants were offered I have a platinum wet cherry blunt wrap, beer, and primus is playing on the stereo, doesn't matter if I have a 10 ft. long genetically altered penis or not...alls the same anyway

People are computers.
Organic computers.
We're hardwired great apes that think we're special because we have permanent shelters and money and technology.
YOU ARE YOUR COMPUTER.
Think about it.
