My over-simplified view on Jesus and Christianity

Please keep in my this is exactly what the subject title says:

A remarkable man is born about 2000 years ago. This man had totally revolutionary ideas about spirituality and religion, kinda like Einstein and his theories on relativety etc. People are so fascinated by his ideas that his "teachings" spread like brush fire, and along the way myths and slightly less than true stories are told explaining how he performed such things as miracles. His claims and teachings are so powerful that it gets passed down from generation to generation till our present day. Somewhere in between Christianity is solidified as a very popular religion.

My point, Jesus was a larger than life character and a religion was created in his honour.

My version goes a little sumtin like this:
A bout 2000 yrs ago, some Higher Ups wanted to start a new religion, for various reasons...
There was a guy names Jesus (or close to it) and he did a lot of crazy things, got people' intrest.
they already had thousands of years of Myth and Legend via the Mesopotamina and Egyptian cultures, so, they took the best parts of those, coupled them with current events, used a bit of the Jewish talmud (?) to 'verify' what was being written and voila! Jesus Christ Super Star.

Please note most of the new test was written hundreds of yrs after christ was dead, so eye wittnes accounts are shady at best - 'Christ" means teacher, like Ceaser means leader, and Satan means Against, as in against Christanity, i.e Paganism.
Crusifixition(sp) was the mode de jour for killing in Rome, and Virgin Birth is when a woman gives birth to a male child for the first time. Not with out having sex. Misinterpertation is a dangerous thing.

Good post. It didn't really start 2000 yrs ago though. Maybe 1000, or 1500 at most. When carpenter boy was alive, few cared of what he had to preach. After he died even fewer. It was toyed and fiddled with later though. How can you question the miraculous acts of a man that lived far before your fathers father. You can only beleive what you are told. I think that there is the crowning blessing.
