IMO widemouth is easier to work with.

well i still dunk my wbs after its fully colonized. I get the feeling that after 2-3 weeks of colonizing that it doesnt hurt to give my wbs a cold shock and the chance to refill its water capacity.

It depends on what I’m planning to do. If I have to open the jar (agar, G2G), then I’d prefer a small neck ‘cause this reduces the risk of contamination. If I don’t have to open the jar (injection of spore solution through a small hole), then I would choose wide open jars.
