Book or tek suggestions?
    #7845144 - 01/07/08 07:10 PM (16 years, 25 days ago)

I have blue oysters, pink oysters, shitaka, and hericium spores, and I would like to start collecting everything I am going to need to get a few of these going.

Any reading suggestions that you guys have found helpful, I would greatly appreciate. Cubes were fun, but it is time to move on, and I am super stoked to be doing so.

Searching posts here has been informative, but very disorganised.

I have a number of books like the Mushroom Cultivator and Growing Gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, but to be perfectly honest I find I refer to my RR Video set more and and more these day and less my books. The books are great too, but for the basics and just what you need for specific steps, the video is working out great.

all you need is a pressure cooker, jars or bags, and a substrate

you might not even need a pressure cooker depending on how you work it

edit: oh forgot a good fruiting chamber is key, clean-constant humidity-light is what you need

growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms and a basic knowledge of cultivation

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.
