another pressure cooker >?, but with a twist
    #784408 - 07/29/02 04:29 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

so i have pressure cooker and i cant get it to work. its an old school model....it has an excess water hole in it. its an all american model 907. anyway, how long should this thing take to have any kind of pressure reading on it? i get it pretty hot, but it doesnt register on the guage. i thought it might be the guage so i bought a brand new one, but still no luck . if i do blow into either one of them though there is a pressure reading...does this mean i just have to let it "cook" for longer? how ever long it takes, there always seems to be an ecxess of steam rolling from this ecsess water hole. can anyone help me out? give me any pointers?

oh yeah, and i have made sure tht the seal is ok on the sides with no escaping, but still no luck ...anyone? Phil

yes i would too think there needs to be some kind of weight or plunger over the valve.....cause if the steam rolls out of the safty hole then naturally preasure is nto gonna build up inside....right?
