Yea, he got his ass whooped and nationally embarrassed. He needs to know how to back up what he says. He makes sense on a lot of issues such as the reason 9-11 happened because of our bases in their holy land, but damn, when he brought that up in the debate he got tossed around like a freshman girl.

The debate, like most of the others, was bad for him. The other candidates did a very successful job of making him look crazy.
He seems like a very polite, well intentioned guy, and I like some of his positions, but he's a terrible politician.

I agree entirely.. I don't trust people who don't like bacon.
Anyway, I think Paul has a lot of things right, but he's a little off his rocker. Actually implementing some of the things he suggests would take 20 to 30 years, and others are just bad ideas. As much as I hate income taxes, consumption taxes are a horrible idea. Go back to the gold standard? Bring the entire military home from overseas? He proposes essentially dismantling the government. Bureaucracy sucks, and I agree with getting the government out of our lives, but not getting the government out of existence. He got owned when he started talking about bases in Saudi Arabia causing 9/11, even though it does have something to do with it.
So ,my advice for anyone voting Republican is to please vote for John McCain, so we can have a real discussion about the issues and not just a partisan bitch-fest for the next 10 months. He might be more hawkish than others, but at least you know what you're getting with him.
Oh yeah, kill Mitt Romney.

how so? they tried connecting al-queda between islamic jihad. I think the Ron paul was trying to say that Bin laden attacked us because of our occupation of saudi arabia right?

I dont think Osama Bin Ladin attacked us because of Jihad. Didn't he say that he attacked us because of Saudi Arabia? And then after we attacked them they started tossing around the term jihad?
^ The reason he is pulling out of Iraq is because our premise for being their is incorrect. As far as pulling out of other countries he says it will increase the value of the US dolar so we wont have to borrow so much

What? He didn't attack the US because he didn't get his fries with his happy meal. Infidel bases in Saudi Arabia is just one reason in a litany of complaints against the US. Women in positions of authority, homosexual anything, and study of anything besides the Koran are other reasons. He is insane and preaching hate to impoverished and marginalized people. Until the third world is lifted up, he will always have an audience to preach his hate to, and an example of an enemy in those who are more prosperous.

How? You must have his ideas mixed up, because that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Contracting the presence of military would surely save the US money, but having those bases abroad is in our interest. Our not borrowing so much would definitely increase the value of the dollar, and a smaller military would help, but then again so would not starting gay wars in the first place.
Anyway, if you vote Republican, vote McCain.
