I checked google images and didnt find anything that was clear. Do any of you folk have a pic?
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Here is the deal. I bought some wood dowels that were already inoculated with shiitake. I took some mycelium on some agar and it has grown out. Its just really light. I know it will be light compared to a psilocybe but this is lighter than I would like. These dowels are probably 3-4 years old and I am sure the guy who made them had used an isolation for them. I guess I will grow it out and see. Hopefully its a strong producer. It just isnt a sector that I would have chosen but maybe the years have affected it

Here's the aloha medicinals shiitake 75 strain, and the fungi perfecti shiitake side by side. Shiitake is a very thin and light mycelium until it gets control of the substrate, then it thickens up. RR
