Pig Shit
    #784303 - 07/29/02 03:52 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

My farmer friend told me that when they took the pig shit too some trees, two weeks later the trees were growing like crazy.......lol......now when he told me that , I was like "uh huh".......but actualy, the shit he can get might be ok. The pigs only get fed barley grain, no scraps.........Do you think pig shit with a barley formula will be ok? Ever hear of pig shit?....Let me know

If it were composted, I bet it would work. Here's a link which concerns button mushrooms but could be used to cultivate cubensis with no issues. It mentions the use of pig manure.

Composted pig shit has been "decomposed" by microorganisms. Due to the heat produced by composting, it is also naturally pasteurized at this point. Pasteurized pig shit which has been dried has a different composition when it comes to texture, nutrient content, etc. I would probably use the composted shit over the fresh stuff.

Here is a link for compost information: The Compost Resource Page
