Unlocking a Razr.

My little brother gave me a Motorola Razr. But the problem is that i have T mobile and he has cingular.
No problem, i just need to unlock the phone and then i can use my sim card in it. Since my little brother is no longer with cingular, they refused to give me the proper subsidy code to unlock it.
So, i got a few programs, found the right files on the net. Updated the boot loader, blah blah blah. And finally i unlocked it.
Now it recognizes the t-mobile network, but my bastard little brother put a password on the phone that he doesn't remember now. What a dick.
This story doesn't really go anywhere, but i just wanted to vent. Don't you hate spending hours on something and then get screwed at the very end?

www.motomodders.net is a pretty cool site for finding out things about Motorola phones including unlocking. If you haven't been there already check it out.

I'll keep that site in mind. I actually didn't know how much modding could be done on phones until i started to unlock this one.
Cool stuff.

I have a KRZR that I have done a bunch of modding on. I am actually getting ready to release a monsterpack for it once I get some free time to fix some bugs and what not.

Cool. I've been wanting to get a krzr(just putting it off because i can't justify the cost).
How do you like that phone? It seems packed with features, which usually means that each feature sucks.

I really like the phone. I was never a big fan of the RAZR I always thought it was too wide. My KRZR is just a little thicker but not nearly as wide so it fits nicely in my hand and is comfortable. Feature wise, it uses pretty much the same interface as the RAZR but supports A2DP as well which is nice for media playback. It also has support for added memory from MicroSD cards. It is a matter of preference but if you get a new contract from a cell provider you can get a KRZR for 50 dollars. Alternatively, I got mine from Motorola directly for 180ish.
