my little ones are nice and dry now :-) just curious about your experiences with storage. Right now I plan on putting them in a little baggy and leaving them in the refrigerator. Assuming this would keep them fresh... ...? any tips? thanks..

The fridge is not a great place, very dirty and also lots of moisture. Keep them in a sealed container with some damp rid or silica gel.
You can store them in a cool cupboard this way for quite some time, as long as its complelty sealed, an oxygen eater can be good to reduce any oxidation of the actives.
I have heard of some people keeping them in the freezer, but am unsure on it.
However i dont dry mine, i prefer fresh, i dont grow much, so i usually keep mine in a breathable container in the fridge for no more than 5 days.
Make sure they are cracker dry, any moisture left in them will cause them to rot. Also if you freeze them and theres still water in them, defrosting will result in a sludge.

Putting fresh mushrooms in a non breathable bag (plastic 4 example) will cause them to rot in no time. You need a breathable bag like paper.

I have kept cracker dry mushrooms for months with no noticeable drop in potency by double bagging them and than putting the bag in a box full of silica

I get them cracker dry, grind them into a fine powder (destroying the cellular structure), then into a glass parfait type jar with a silica gel bag in there and then into a dark cold place.
But to be honest they never last for long, due to me keep consuming them!!

I did this as well.. although I packed the powder very tightly in a small glass jar with an iron lid. I made sure there was (almost) no air inside the jar left. I stored the jar at room temperature in a dark place. This powder was still quite potent after 3 years.

I was wondering if after you grind them they lose any potency at all?

No, certainly not, I've experienced this personally BTW, this is the Anubis technique: http://www.shroomery.org/6248/The-Anubis-Technique
