does seroquel leave you feeling really drowsy/dead? (zyprexa did for me).
Does it help with depression at all?

You should practice to get the zombie howl down

What kind of doses of Seroquel are you talking about?

Can you describe the zombified state? Are there bad side effects aside from the psychotropic effect?

fuck all that .. xanax to go to sleep, trazadone to stay asleep and not keep waking up. Taking me years of trying every combo to find that.. Xanax or any strong benzo first then the traz. good luck

I still vote for the xanax. maybe there are some dinosaur tranqs out there that will knock your ass out, but I know for a fact that xanax will put any insomniac gently to sleep.

I wish I knew an answer to this question a drug that didn't develop tolerance or have toxic side affects.

Really the best thing to do would to try more non-pharmaceutical therapy first. Perhaps consult a physician in regards to this.

As for the meds it would probably best to try something mild like eszopiclone or ramelton.

Ambien seems to only be good for short term and acute therapy.

Midazolam is awesome but it has abuse potential. It is nice as a sleep medicine though, at a sufficient dosage it induces sleep rapidly, within half of an hour. Its short action assures that you don't awake groggy or intoxicated which is also a good thing.
Halcion and rohypnol share a similar profile with midazolam. I would take Rohypnol over midazolam for recreation though.

Now from my own experiences with hypnotics it is worth noting that the quality of sleep may be lacking when you knock yourself out every evening. But I suppose poor sleep is better than no sleep.
Good luck with the insomnia.
