Any site that realistically lists the long-term effects of drugs?
    #7842244 - 01/07/08 03:24 AM (16 years, 25 days ago)

I want to start taking ex regularly now because even under intense highs it is easy to manage and is much less "flooring" than LSD or shrooms (although, both LSD and shrooms are much, much more in my favor, just haven't proven to be nearly as favorable at raves as ex). Anyways, I want to know how badly I could fuck myself up long term. I can't tell a difference now because I've only done ex twice.

Anyways, are there any websites out there with REAL facts of REAL dangers? I don't find erowid very helpful, and any site that tries to give ANY danger gives those bullshit factoids that the government puts out that hardly make any sense to begin with.

Wikipedia? I've generally found that to be unbiased. If you go through the history it'll give you multiple opinions. There are also various pharmacological encyclopedias, probably at a decent library. I've found relatively unbiased reports in those.

you can't really trust wikipedia fully though. you've got to remember anyone can edit those articles, and they have been found to be wrong before.

you could try bluelight. I haven't personally looked around there much, but it seems like it's got tons of credible info.

part of the appeal in this case is that they can be edited by anybody; that is what makes it unbiased. Like I said, look through the history, and take everything with a grain of salt.

Regular, long-term use may alter serotonin production in the brain.  I would only use it very, very seldomly.  Personally, I'd ONLY use mdma for self-growth, and never touch it again.

Yet again, the psychedelics are the best.:mushroom2:

I'm still not convinced that mushrooms don't fry your brain even a little.

i know most don't view it as such, but i find mdma to be very psychadellic.  often visual in high enough doses and very mind expanding.

mdma is also a lot less neurotoxic than most people will tell you.  it's the other amphetamines that a lot of ecstacy is cut with that actually put "holes in your brain" over long term use.  nonetheless, i wouldn't recommend taking it more than twice a month if you're concerned.  i've gone against my own advice many times though.

Wikipedia is the best source IMO for drug information. I understand anyone can edit it, and you should check it out on google, but the wikipedia articles are well kept and the people that upkeep the pages know their shit. Bluelight is probably better if you don't mind sifting through a lot of useless information and repetitive information, you really have to dig for a lot of shit.
